Would You Do This Job in Sioux Falls?
On Friday (September 4) I was leaving the Results Radio studios when I glanced up at the ever darkening skies. It was apparent that a storm was heading our way. But then something else caught my eye.
Perched hundreds of feet in the air, a repairman was working on the radio tower that sits next to our building, leaning backwards into the air.
I know he was wearing a safety harness, but that could stop me from asking myself: would I do that job? The answer: an unequivocal 'Hell, No!'
Now, I don't have a great fear of heights (a healthy respect maybe), but the idea of climbing that tower and then taking BOTH hands off the rails - nah. He's a better man than I am.
Then another thought crept into my mind - what is he doing about all the bird poop? If you have ever seen a tall tower, you know birds just LOVE to hang out there. Eeewwww.
