Aric Almirola has been cleared to race again. Take a look at the fiery crash he was in  earlier in the 2017 season.

It happened on May 13 at Kansas Speedway. He was airlifted to the hospital with a fractured vertebra.

Almirola has been out for two months. But now he will be back in action Sunday (7/16) at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The final step of his comeback involved a test Tuesday (7/11) at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It went well leading doctors to recommend that NASCAR approve Almirola for competition, and NASCAR granted that approval Wednesday (7/12).

He will be back in the Richard Petty Motorsports number 43 car for practice on Friday at New Hampshire.
