You can add Sugar's Baked Goods and Sweet Treats to the ever growing list of Sioux Falls businesses that are calling it quits.

Sugar's, a bakery that's been open in Sioux Falls for the past five year's near 26th Street and Marion Road has decided to make its last sweet treat.

KDLT News is reporting the decision to close has to do with the upcoming pursuits of its owners.

Owner Kari Popham told KDLT News, “While we have enjoyed continued growth and success with the business over the past several years, we have made the decision to make a lifestyle change and pursue some new opportunities."

The business "closed" sign is becoming an all too familiar occurrence in Sioux Falls these days. Over the past few months Sioux Falls has lost, or is about to lose, a number of mainstay businesses like; The Lone Star Steakhouse, Tre Lounge, K-Mart on West 12th Street, Modtro, and Gordmans just to name a few.

Word also broke recently that Cleaver's Market will be closing its doors soon at The Bridges near 57th and Western to focus on catering. Then, there was the bombshell that rocked chicken lovers all over the Sioux Empire this past week, when a for sale sign was posted out in front of Bob's Delivery and Carry Out on 12th Street. The future of that iconic restaurant is up in the air, as owners have decided to place the land the building stands on up for sale.

Sugar's plans to hold an equipment auction during the last week in April.
