Even when you’re stressed, bummed out or you’ve been bad putting on a fake smile will help lower your heart rate, release stress and make you happier.

And for those times you’re caught red handed being naughty, smiling will make whoever you’ve annoyed more lenient, not necessarily less guilty but they will tend to go easier on the transgressor because smiling makes people seem more trustworthy.
