In a recent speech to law enforcement President Trump seemed to encourage the use of inappropriate force when making arrests.

Trump said: “Like when you guys put somebody in the car, and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put your hand over” their head, he said, putting his hand above his head for emphasis. “I said, ‘You can take the hand away, O.K.?’”

And just about as soon as Trump made the suggestion law enforcement professionals from across the nation have denounced the remarks.

According to KSFY TV Sioux Falls Police Chief Matt Burns released this statement:

"The comments by the President regarding police use of force do not reflect the views or the policy of the Sioux Falls Police Department in regards to the handling or treatment of persons in our custody. We treat all persons with respect regardless of our reason for contact with them."

What do you think about the President's remarks?
