A number of drivers were arrested over the weekend in Sioux Falls during a Saturation Patrol.

"Those 10 officers made 9 DWI arrests as a result of the Saturation Patrol," according to Police Spokesman Sam Clemens.

"That's a lot higher than we have seen recently. But, there were quite a few of other tickets were handed out. Some for speeding, seat belts and distracted driving."

Right now, Clemens says drivers can expect further Saturation Patrols.

"This just shows us that there is a reason we do these patrols. We know people are driving impaired and we will continue with these Saturation Patrols in the future to hopefully stop the violations."

A total of 112 citations were handed out during the Saturation Patrol.
