SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Sioux Falls church flooded in August when more than seven inches of rain fell in the city has held its first post-flood church service.

KELO-TV reports that worshippers filled Christ Community Church's newly renovated sanctuary on Sunday.

Worship musician Daron Ross says members are very grateful to Lincoln Hills Bible Church for giving the congregation a temporary place to worship, but it's nice to be back home.

Members rebuilt the stage and replaced most of the carpeting using donations, but there's more work to do. Crews still have to finish installing cove base on some areas of flooring, and members still have to wipe down and sanitize the building.

Pastor Troy Weiland says that despite the flooding, most of the church is in good condition.
