The local racing season comes alive with a major event Friday night (May 12) at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota. It's an easy drive from Sioux Falls of just a little over an hour.

And it's not hard to find at all. Just get on I-90 and head straight east.

Jackson Motorplex will host The Spring Nationals Friday night. It is an all sprint car showdown. The half-mile oval welcomes 410 World of Outlaw Sprints Fueled by Casey's General Store, Heartland Steel RaceSaver 305 Sprints and Heartland Racing Association 360 non-wing sprint cars all in action on one big night.

With many changes to the operations of tracks around Sioux Falls you have to know where to go to attend racing now. Jackson, Minnesota is a great choice every Friday night this summer, starting Mother's Day weekend.

You have heard of Jackson for racing, but maybe have never gone. If attend one time, you will be amazed and are sure to return. The facility is beautiful and run well. Plus the prices for food and beverage are very fan friendly. And the track itself is second to none.

Feel and see the thunder. Watch the big boys, the big winged, big motor outlaw sprints tear up the big half mile. What a way to enjoy a Friday night.

And because it's Mother's Day weekend, the first 300 moms through the main gate will receive a free carnation as well as have a chance to win one of several gift bags valued at more than $60.

Gates open at 5:00 PM. Hot laps at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors ages 62 and older and $12 for students ages 13 to 18. Children ages 12 and younger get in free. Fans can also visit a local Casey's General Store to receive a $5 off coupon.
