Last week, I went back home to the Chicagoland area to spend some vacation time with some family and friends.  I managed to visit any and all parts of my old stomping grounds including my high school, or I should say its gravesite.

Queen of Peace High School is a place I called home for four years, and now all that's left are the memories.  When the school closed in June of 2017, the future of the building was unclear.  The school's new owner (a special education cooperative in the area) announced in October 2019 that it was going to tear down the entire campus and rebuild on the site.  That's a tough pill to swallow.  Not being able to walk into your Alma Mater is hard enough, but having the school be totally destroyed is gut-wrenching.

Well, I finally saw what was left of my school...it was not easy.  This is what my "school" looks like now.

Thank you for everything, Queen of Peace High School.  You may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten!
