According to Sgt. James Buteyn of the Sioux Falls Police Dept. Sioux Falls Police Officers were dispatched Sunday night to 628 S. Dakota Ave. in reference to an injury hit and run.

The investigation showed that that a vehicle in the parking lot accelerated in reverse striking a parked vehicle. The force of that impact pushed the parked vehicle forward and into a sliding glass door on one of the apartments.

A 32-year-old man had just stepped out of the apartment through the sliding glass door. The man was struck by the parked vehicle as he attempted to get out of the way.

He reported minor injuries and received medical treatment. A bystander observed the accident and was able to get a description of the vehicle.

Sioux Falls Police Officers continue to investigate leads at this time.
