The results of this year’s National Association of Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive in Sioux Falls was 73,766 pounds of non-perishable food. That amount equates to nearly 61,500 meals.

Jennifer Stensaas, Development Associate with Feeding South Dakota, appreciates everyone's roles in collecting food that day.

"We would like to extend a very special thank you to  Eric Wicks, our local NALC Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Coordinator, and the entire local US Postal team for all of their hard work, commitment and dedication to this food drive. If it were not for our Letter Carriers, this food drive would not be possible," said Stensaas.

"Another big thank you goes to Hy-Vee stores. For several years, Hy-Vee has sponsored the bags that are delivered to every postal address in the area. And last, thank you to the countless volunteers that gave of their time on Saturday, May 13th, to help in the collection of the food."

Volunteers are needed to help sort the donated food.  Contact Feeding South Dakota if you can help.
