The University of Sioux Falls Football team will have a new head coach on the sidelines next season as Jed Stugart is leaving the program to coach Lindenwood.

Matt Zimmer of the Argus Leader first reported that Stugart would be leaving USF on Monday afternoon. USF would confirm that Stugart resigned from his coaching position to take a job at Lindenwood University. Lindenwood is located in St. Charles, Missouri.

"We are sad to see Jed (Stugart) go. He has dedicated himself to USF and to our student-athletes for the past seven years and done so with character, professionalism, integrity and strong faith," said USF Director of Athletics Josh Snyder of Stugart, who ranks third all-time on USF's career wins list and second in winning percentage (65-17, .793). "We wish Jed and Angie, along with Gracie and Gunner, all the best as they move forward from USF and Sioux Falls." - USF Press Release

Zimmer also reports that the Cougars will hire Jon Anderson from West Virginia State. He was a former assistant coach at USF and is 10-34 as a head coach. The team, in the official press release, says that the athletic department will begin a search immediately but they have "a plan in place and will move swiftly in selecting our new coach"

Stugart finishes his USF career with a 65-17 record, and is now 91-24 in his career.
