Ordinarily, the sight of a highway patrol cruiser in your rear view mirror is hardly a thing of beauty, especially if it's flashing lights are on, pulling you over.

But there is a group out there that sees a different side of these law enforcement vehicles.

The American Association of State Troopers loves cruisers so much, they throw an annual 'beauty contest' for the state which sports the sharpest ones.

Balloting is open now for the 'Best Looking Cruiser Contest' on the AAST Facebook page.

Each 'like' of an individual photo counts as a vote. And people take this VERY seriously. Last year there were more than 153,000 votes were cast. Georgia is the defending champion.

Voting ends Thursday, August 17, at 4:00 PM Central time.

There are no sashes or crowns for the top vote getters, but the top 13 grab a spot in the '2018 America's Best Looking Cruisers Calendar' (yes, that's a real thing).
