An Iowa based artist will be making her television debut in a brand-new holiday themed competition program. Rachel Spurling, an Iowa native and 2018 Clarke University graduate already has an incredible body of work.

She studied studio arts in college and is a very talented ceramic artist.

Over the past few years, Rachel has moved to a colder art: snow. Spurling competed and won in the Dubuque Winter Arts Snow Sculpting Festival several years back. As reported in the Telegraph Herald, Rachel first caught the eye of a Disney talent in 2020 when she competed in the US National Snowsculpting Competition.

Several years later, and she's set to make her tv debut as a professional snow sculptor.

Spurling will be competing on a brand-new Disney+ show called Best In Snow. The 90-minute special will feature snow sculptors like Rachel competing for the title of "Best in Snow."

It's described as "an action-packed winter event for the entire family."

The artists are split into five teams, and they all have to turn ten-foot, twenty-ton blocks of snow into larger-than-life sculptures inspired by Pixar, Marvel, Walt Disney Animation, Walt Disney Studios, and The Muppets Studios.

Whatever happens, we're rooting for our Iowa gal Rachel!

See Inside Roseanne Barr's Eldon Mansion

Roseanne Barr was set to make a home in Iowa. She and her then-husband Tom Arnold were in the midst of building a mansion in Eldon. It was put on hold when the couple eventually split up. This left a beautiful, unfinished, and kind of spooky mansion behind.
