Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race was at the biggest track they run on. It was the 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama and it was an extremely exciting finish with the top three cars a fraction of a second apart.

The winning driver took the lead on the final lap in overtime and notched the first victory of his career in the series.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has been working on this day for a long time. It was his 158th start, and now he has a win next to his name in the record books.

Stenhouse and Kyle Busch were racing door to door after the final restart. Then on the last lap, in turn two, Stenhouse moved ahead of Busch. Then Jamie McMurray came up the middle and nosed past Busch for second.

At the checkered flag Stenhouse won by .095 seconds over McMurray. Busch was .004 seconds behind the second place car for third.

The big drama of the day was on lap 169 of the scheduled 188. A big pile up on the backstretch damaged 18 of the 38 cars still running in competition.

It took almost a half hour to clean up the mess. It all started with AJ Allmendinger tapping Chase Elliott, causing him to turn sideways in front of the traffic.

Kyle Larson cut a tire and scraped the wall early in the race, but managed a 12th place finish to extend his lead in the series. See where your driver finished.
