With the NBA Draft Lottery taking place tonight, eyes around this area will be on the Minnesota Timberwolves. They can get the top pick, but don't bet on it.

The annual event will take place in New York where the lottery balls will determine the draft order for the 14 teams that did not make the NBA Playoffs. Minnesota finished 13th overall in the Western Conference with a 31-51 record. Five teams finished worse than the Timberwolves, and the New York Knicks finished with the same record.

Kyle Ratke, web editor of the Timberwolves, has released the chances the Timberwolves have of grabbing the each pick in the NBA Lottery. Minnesota has a 5.3% chance of grabbing the first overall pick, 6.03% chance for the second pick, and 6.98% chance of landing the third pick. The best overall percentage points to either the 6th or 7th overall pick.

In history, Minnesota has only had the top overall pick one time and they used it to select Karl Anthony Towns in 2015. The Timberwolves have made five picks, most in history, from the 5th overall position. Those players included Isiah Rider (1993), Kevin Garnett (1995), Ray Allen (1996, traded to Milwaukee), Ricky Rubio (2009), and Kris Dunn (2016).

The NBA Draft Lottery airs on ESPN and ESPN 99.1 tonight at 7:00 PM.
