So far our snow in Sioux Falls, South Dakota has been coming at an extremely fast pace. A normal snowfall amount for an entire winter is somewhere around 40 inches.

We've had over half that in less than two weeks. It could be a winter of epic proportions if this continues.

At any rate, the driving conditions were as bad as they could be in the city on Monday. The morning started with freezing drizzle, then heavy wet snow on top of it.

Many cars were seen sliding out of control. The worst one I saw was right outside of my house on South Cliff Avenue.

I noticed a tow truck winching a vehicle out of the Sioux River. In the picture that my wife took, you can see the headlights of this vehicle right under the Tuthill Park sign.
