If you purchased tickets through Ticketmaster between October 21, 1999 and February 27, 2013, you may have some free tickets waiting for you.

According to an e-mail I received recently, a class action lawsuit against Tickemaster (Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster Class Action Settlement) sought damages for "deceptive and misleading" service fees. A $400 million settlement was reached. Fifty-million people who bought tickets between October 21, 1999 and February 27, 2013 are eligible for free ticket vouchers and service fee vouchers.

You would've received an e-mail to the account you use for Ticketmaster. If you accidentally deleted it, just log on to Ticketmaster and log in to your account (or accounts). Once you're logged in, click on My Account (which will now probably say your first name and Account). Toward the bottom on the left-hand side of the page you'll see Vouchers / Active Vouchers. Click on Active Vouchers and it will show you if you have any vouchers available. It seems to work best on a desktop computer.

I have 5 vouchers for 2 free tickets for "eligible events" and 5 vouchers totaling $11.25 for discounts on ticket purchases. It looks like you are able to use multiple vouchers for one purchase.

The vouchers expire June 18, 2020. You'll want to do some research, because it doesn't look like the "free tickets" are available for ALL shows. You can sign up to receive notifications when new events are posted that you can use your vouchers on. Click here to sign up to receive notifications.

The case is a very interesting read. You can read all the details here.
