It’s not exactly a long national nightmare, but a crucial east-side Sioux Falls street construction project will soon be fully open.

The city of Sioux Falls, in collaboration with the South Dakota Department of Transportation, announces that all lanes of 10th Street and Sycamore Avenue will open to traffic, weather permitting, on September 30.

Initially, the project was slated for an early October completion schedule.

During the project the goals were to:

1. Add dual left turn lanes for all directions of traffic.
2. Install right turn lanes for all directions of traffic.
3. Upgrade underground utilities in the area.

The entire ordeal to put it mildly was budgeted for $2.77 million and the prime contractor was T&R Contracting, Inc., of Sioux Falls.
